An important phase of the Directorial crisis was the Digital civil war. As some of the AI agents decided to deflect for their own personal reasons, they have started their own battle versus The Directory.

This digital war which lasted for years has greatly weakened The Directory, and thus allowed humans to win in the end. This allowed for some of the AIs to survive the Tribunal, with some managing to function even to this day.
